When the pool thing happened, she tanked the water with little effort. 2) The only time I remember Inner!Moka being harmed by water was immediately before Tsukune first transformed into a ghoul, after she was weakened by giving him some of her blood. If they're breathing the water (which they admittedly might not be), I think there's a very low chance of the pool actually being chlorinated most likely it's saltwater. 1) the swim club is almost completely composed of Mermaids, and I distinctly recall seeing gills on Ichinose Tamao's monster form.Thinking on this more, other things occurred to me.Yokai are just as much supernatural as physical beings, after all. Again, if you know your mythology a weakness to water isn't that far-fetched. It would be like introducing an elf and giving them a weakness to iron or steel, thus needing specially-made utensils: mythologically, the Fae were harmed by contact with cold iron. And the weakness to water is also a reference to how mythological Dracula style vampires-like Moka-couldn't cross running water except in very specific circumstances in very specific ways. Purity, as I was trying to define it, was more a matter of the proportion of water-to-stuff. A river, by volume, is more water than minerals. The pool was, by volume, more water than chlorine or other chemicals, thus it registered as "pure". By "100% pure", I was referring to the ratio of water to extras. By that logic, what the hell do vampires even have to be afraid of? They dont have to be afraid of 100% pure water, because it literally cant exist at all. Therefore, the idea that vampires in this universe are only weakened by ∱00% pure water is inherently nonsensical in of itself, because there is no such thing as truly pure water. There is no such thing as, as you said, ∱00% pure water with no added extras. These minerals are essential components that define whether water is hard or soft, and they play a role in taste too. Most water will also contain certain ions, such as calcium and magnesium, even if it is just a trace amount. Sea water, for example, has salt in its composition. All water on Earth has additional components. Care to explain that? Also, I would like to point out that there is no such thing as water that is truly"100% pure". For one thing, what about the pool water from the chapter when we discover that vampires are weak to water? Pool water isn't made of ∱00% pure water either (it's also made of Chlorine and other stuff), so by your logic, it shouldn't hurt Moka, Yet despite that, she is clearly shown being afraid of going into the pool because she knows it will affect her. Moka says, flat out, that when she bathes she adds herbs and oils and other stuff to the water and she's just fine. Rain is not 100% water, especially in this day and age. Blood is not 100% water, the other stuff that makes it blood nullifies the weakness.
